beauty between days
nobody respects the night
but she is beautiful
cold and crisp yet
soft and velvet-
a mystery unfolding
when day sleeps
as the sun falls
she comes out of hiding
beckoning all to
draw near
she fun, filled with revelry,
quiet with chastity,
a time to end
and a time to begin
night holds the key to
the secrets of old
in daylight, none pays
attention
but in the silk of
the dusk, all the world
can be seen
if the eye cares to look
past the curtains
walk in the moonlight
kiss under stars -
our best times are spent
in the company of night
she is meant to be cherished
blessed and adored
the break between days
in which we delight
