i blame you for the fact
that you were born a baby boy
too bad you weren't a sister
and could fill us all with joy
i blame you for the apple
that i brought home from school
you tore it all to pieces
you made me look a fool

that you left messes on the wall
all the while you stood there,
to let me take the fall
i blame you for the afternoon
the day that you were mad
before you put the vaccuum down

i blame you for the times
when we would talk all through the night
and you'd sit there and you'd understand
and my heart would then be light
i blame you for the days
when we'd be driving in the car
and then you'd say i'm beautiful
and make me wonder who you are
i blame you for coming into my life
and making me share my mother
but mostly for brightening up my life
